Typical Financial Benefits

A typical house uses 4000 units of electricity per year @ 12.5p* per unit. The average annual electricity cost is therefore £500. A 4kWp costs around Solar PV system will generate around 3335 kWh* of electricity.

Assuming half of the energy produced is used in the home (for free) and the rest sold back to the grid:

  • FIT income = 43.3p x 3335 = £1,443
  • Export tariff income = 3.1p x 1250 = £51
  • Avoided electricity = 12.5p x 1250 = £208

Total income and savings in the 1st year: £1,702

These payments are index linked and guaranteed for 25 years.

Total Benefit after 25 Years: £42,550...
